I’m turning 46 in a few weeks, and I’ve made it a mission of mine to be intentional about staying consistent with working out, moving, and eating the nutrients that my 45-year-old body requires. Long gone are the days where I could pretty much eat anything I wanted at any time I wanted and still look and feel “in shape”…what does that even mean anyway? As a professional dancer in my 20’s and 30’s, I got away with murder. Late-night fast-food drive thru runs didn’t seem to affect me at all, all the moving and shaking I did kept me in a good space until I hit 40. It was like someone delivered me a birthday gift and said ,”Happy Birthday girl….here’s your new metabolism, enjoy!” Having 2 kids after 40 has proven to be a challenge when it comes to time management and I realized that if I want to feel good in the body I’m in, I have to make it a priority, plain and simple.
